A personal learning network or PLN is the people you have surrounded yourself with who challenge you, and help you learn and grow in your professional role. It may include your colleagues, your friends, individuals from your association, committees you have served on, mentors, social media contacts – and can include both people you know in real life and those you only know online. By consciously developing your personal learning network you increase your opportunity to learn new skills and to arrive at innovative solutions to the professional challenges facing you.
The aim of this exercise is to help you map your network, identifying the areas in which you wish to learn and develop, the skills that you have to share, and the people who can help you reach your goals.
